Who knew! Can it be possible that over a year of planning and anticipation my long-awaited trip is finally here?
For those who did not know or have not heard, here goes:
I am taking this trip with a good friend of mine, Cynthia Gonzales. She and I studied for our Master's degrees together and continued our friendship after Grad school. This trip was my way of rewarding myself for finishing my education goals. Words cannot begin to express just how excited I am... In addition to this cruise (like that is not enough) we are also doing a few other things to make this trip 'jump'.
First, Cynthia and I are flying direct to London. We are going to catch Les Misérables in London's West End. The following day we are off to Madrid to experience, well, all things Madrid. I have wanted to see the art in The Prado Museum 'El Museo del Prado' ever since my art class during my undergraduate work. Alas, I am lucky enough to see it. Next, we have plans to see the city, eat tapas, and simply enjoy Spain.
Following Madrid, the two of us will fly to Barcelona to 'catch' our ship. Holland America Line's newest ship The Nieuw Amsterdam. I simply love cruising!!!
After the cruise, we will travel by train to lovely Paris to return to reality... oops, I mean home.
This blog, like my last vacation blog is a way for Cynthia and I to document our travels using electronic means. Please check back often as we intend on updating this blog on a 'daily' basis.
In closing for today I want to thank some people... And although I have many to thank, I especially want to thank Cynthia and her husband, Gilbert. Cynthia has been paramount in the meticulous planning of this trip to ensure we have the best time possible and Gilbert has been so gracious in letting his wife travel around the world with me! Many, many thanks! And thanks to everyone!
Love you Aaron!
~Chris
